Watermark Castle Cove, will be the first Seniors living project of its kind to integrate a Community Library within its grounds. Castle Cove Branch Library will be operated by Willoughby Council and offer the local community a Public Library and associated meeting room. According to Willoughby Mayor Pat Reilly the Library will stock in excess of 6000 items with collections including fiction, non-fiction and AV material for adults and young children. “As the Library is located next to a Seniors Living project we anticipate many residents will use the Library for reading newspapers, magazines, large print books and internet use,” he said. A separate Children’s area with children’s collection and venue for small craft activities will also provide an opportunity for the children in the area to participate in all sorts of Children’s activities’. Story time for preschoolers, School Holiday Activities etc. The new Library will also have a meeting area to cater for special events. Willoughby Councils Environmental Services Director Greg Woodhams stated “Castle Cove Branch Library will be a welcome addition to Willoughby City’s network of Branch Libraries which already includes Artarmon, Naremburn, Northbridge and Castlecrag. Council is pleased that Watermark has incorporated the facility in this exciting project as it will bring the residents and the local Castle Cove community together.” The Library entry will be from Deepwater Road, allowing easy access for all users whilst protecting the privacy and security of the Retirement Village.
